VTT & SRT to Text Converter
Convert VTT and SRT subtitle files into clean plain-text transcripts. Removes timestamps and cue numbers, merges consecutive lines per speaker, and runs entirely in your browser — nothing is uploaded.
Paste your .vtt / .srt content
Everything runs in your browser — your transcript never leaves this page.
How the converter works
Caption files from Zoom, Google Meet, and Microsoft Teams (.vtt or .srt) are built for video players, not for reading: every few words get their own timestamped cue, speaker names hide inside voice tags, and rolling captions repeat the same half-sentence three times. This tool strips cue numbers and timestamps, pulls speaker names out of <v> tags and Name:prefixes, removes rolling duplicates, and merges each speaker's consecutive lines into readable paragraphs.
Where to find your caption file
Zoom: cloud recordings include an Audio Transcript (.vtt) file next to the video. Google Meet:transcripts save to the organizer's Drive as a Doc, or captions export as .sbv/.vtt. Teams:download the .vtt from the meeting's Recap tab.
